A boating pond, desert island, café and miniature railway all in one place makes a really popular spot for the locals and tourists alike.

This was taken on a quiet Saturday morning before the park attractions opened for the school holiday season.

Agnew Park is on the southern edge of Loch Ryan right next to Stranraer pier and harbour.

The play area is near the café and extensive car park.

The island, when open, has a pirate ship for the children to play on.

The three main park buildings which include the Driftwood Café and in the foreground the clubhouse of Stranraer St Ayles Skiff Project, essentially an inshore rowing club. There are free toilets next to the café.
