This is the Scottish Dark Sky Observatory just to the north of Loch Doon in South Ayrshire.
It was still being built when these were taken in September 2012.
This facility will give the people of the area excellent access to high-powered telescopes under virtually ideal conditions.
The area to the right of the observatory is for people to set up their own telescopes.
This view shows Loch Doon in the background, to the south.
To reach the observatory turn right onto the forest road a mile or so south of Dalmellington on the A713 - or left just before Dalmellington if heading north.
The plan is to take more photos once the place is completed and the main telescope is installed, hopefully with the dome open to show the equipment inside.
This is a cropped image taken from more square on.
An overhead view with a couple of people included to give you an idea of scale.
Other image crops and sizes are often available to suit your page or product design.

Always remember that images taken by 197 aerial photography are
available for clients in much higher quality than the small .jpg files on this website.
