Western Gailes Golf Club
South of Irvine, North Ayrshire
This view shows the clubhouse, looking eastwards from directly over the dunes.
You can see the clubhouse, the starter's hut, the putting green, the first tee and the 18th green.
Behind it are the Dundonald (links?) Course, the papermill at Meadowhead, the Hillhouse quarry, the old Dundonald camp on the right and of course Dundonald Castle on the edge of the hill.
The full size original is about 7,000 pixels wide, over 60 megapixels.
The castle as seen from the same point as above, some 2.8 miles or 4.5 km away to the east.
From farther to the north this wider view includes the north edge of Troon.
The full size original of this panorama is about 12,000 pixels wide, over 105 megapixels.
It's shown here at about 1/16th of its full width or 1/256th actual size.
Always remember that images taken by 197 aerial photography are available for clients
in a very much higher quality than the small sized compressed images which are shown
as .jpg files on this website.
