Stranraer, Dumfries & Galloway (once was Wigtownshire)
This is a rather nice park on the seafront at Stranraer. Well, OK, the lochside.
A boating pond, desert island, cafe and miniature railway all in one place makes a really popular spot for the locals and tourists alike. And it's right next to a really clean and well-cared-for sandy beach.
A little closer in, as per usual.
To find this place (sorry, we didn't note the name) go to the ferry terminal
and swim 50 yards west. That'll do it.
