Pittenweem, Fife

All of these shots are from over the outer harbour. The eastern end of the harbour with the abbey
wall in the top left. The gold circle in the bottom right is interesting and can be seen in close-up
in the next photo.


This is a detail from the above photo. It's a circle of metal, about 16 feet (5 metres) across and
it's been covered in gold leaf. Nowadays it's a little worn, showing signs of use and abuse, but the
gold is still there. A friendly passing expert advised that it's a piece of public art, linked to the
local arts festival. More information would be appreciate if anyone has it. Thanks.


The photo above and the three below were taken from further west towards the harbour entrance. In two
of the photos you can easily see Anstruther just a mile or so away to the east.


This is a closer view of the above photo to show the entrance to St Fillan's Cave. St Fillan was,
seemingly, the patron saint of the mentally ill.






That's not water reflecting in the top left, it's plastic sheeting over early crops.
