St Ninian's Chapel, Isle of Whithorn

(The full size image is 5,840 pixels wide)

The ruined chapel on the Isle of Whithorn.
This was the place where St Ninian first landed in Scotland,
bringing Christianity to the heathen lands.
(Some day it might take hold.)

The white semi-circular plaque near the people in the bottom left is a tribute to the men who died on
the fishing boat "The Solway Harvester" off the Isle of Man, many of whom were local to this area.
