The National Burns Monument - Mauchline, Ayrshire

This is located on the north edge of the town of Mauchline, Ayrshire, and was built to commemorate the life of Robert Burns who lived and worked in the town and on Mossgiel Farm, nearby.

That's the A76 just behind the monument - the main trunk road from Kilmarnock to Dumfries.

The town of Mauchline can be seen down the hill.
