Maidens Harbour, South Ayrshire

The harbour, looking to the south-west.

In the last year or so there has been a change for the better in Maidens as the local people work to bring the harbour back into proper use after years of neglect. This view shows not only the increase in pleasure boats moored here but the building work going on to improve the amenities.

A closer view showing the new pontoons (floating docks?) in more detail with a view of Arran and Holy Isle in the distance. These were taken at just after high tide but there's water under the keels even when the tide is out thanks to recent dredging in the harbour.

The keen-eyed amongst you will have noted that there may well be berths available.
