The Falkirk Wheel from the South
(the back view)
Looking north as the pleasure boat Antonine emerges from the tunnel connecting the union Canal
spur to the top of the Falkirk Wheel. Just visible over the trees is the top of the wheel.
The Antonine turning round in the tight space below the locks.
Heading back towards the tunnel...
...and then re-entering the tunnel, in this photo just as a train goes by, but that's
probably not part of the timetable.
A panorama of the area showing the pool below the locks in the spur of the Grand Union Canal
built to link that canal to the wheel and then in turn to the Forth & Clyde Canal below the wheel. All of the photographs, logos, graphics and text on this website are Copyright © Alan W.
