The Falkirk Wheel from the south
(the back view)


Looking north as the pleasure boat Antonine emerges from the tunnel connecting the union Canal spur to the top of the Falkirk Wheel.

Just visible over the trees is the top of the wheel.

Heading back towards the tunnel...



...and then re-entering the tunnel, in this photo just as a train goes by, but that's probably not part of the timetable.



A panorama of the area showing the pool below the locks in the spur of the Grand Union Canal built to link that canal to the wheel and then in turn to the Forth & Clyde Canal below the wheel.

and as you would expect they show a great deal more detail than the .jpg website versions.
