The Falkirk Wheel
Looking north from off to one side of the wheel. You can easily see the structure of the wheel and the boats in both the top and bottom canals, ready for the wheel to revolve and swap them over.
This view looks directly along the top (Union) canal. You can easily see the main basin on the left and the glass-walled visitor centre on the right. This angle shows the repetition of the semi-circular and circular patterns, not at all obvious from ground level. The images shown on this website are reduced and compressed .jpg versions of much larger images. These versions are ideal for showing the quality and character of 197 aerial photography's work. Full-sized files for licensed commercial use are generally of at least 5,000 pixels wide and as you would expect they all show a great deal more detail and clarity than website-quality versions.
