Ardrossan Castle, Ayrshire

The castle ruins from several angles.
The castle is on a prominent hill above the (ex)fishing port, marina and ferry terminal.

The ruins are on Castle Hill, just to the south of the main town centre.
Seemingly, there are stories of ghosts and ethereal events among the ruins, with some people claiming it's haunted by the ghost of William Wallace.

It's also just about the only castle in Scotland that was never slept in by Mary, Queen of Scots.
